So I recently bought the new rebel camera the t2i I loved it, (I just do this as a hobby) well time came to upload the shots(i shot in RAW) to my computer and when I tried to open then on PS cs3 they would not open. I figured that, an update on adobe would help me but the only update available doesnt support cs3 or any earlier versions just cs4 and up.. Do I have any other options? I just bought the camera, and I cant afford to buy photoshop cs5 at the moment. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Adobe Lightroom 3 beta 2 is a free download at Adobe Labs - Homepage
Convert to psd or tiff until you find another solution.

Did Canon provide Digital Photo Professional with your camera? You can do some editing in RAW with it and convert to tiff or jpg. I thought it came with all their DSLR's. I'd use that until you can do something else with PS or LR.

I'm still figuring all this out too, but from what I've found, only Camera Raw 5.7 supports T2i raw format. PS CS5 shipped with camera raw 6.0, which doesn't include support T2i. Stupid huh... Camera Raw 6.0 Now Shipping as part of CS5 (With Important Caveat) - Lightroom Journal

If you have the full version of CS3 you can buy the upgrade to CS5 for under $200. First, I would call Adobe. ACR 5.7 will be the last upgrade for CS4 and if it reads the raw files for your camera, ACR 6 should. If not, they will have to bring out a new version for your camera. When I first purchased my 7D I had to wait for ACR 5.7. When Adobe brings out a new version of photoshop, they no longer will add new versions of ACR to the past version.
You might also ask them about photoshop elements to see if the newest version will support your camera.
Good Luck........

So, simply upgrading to CS5 does not solve his problem. Currently, I have to use LR2.7 (which uses ACR5.7) to convert to DNG so I can use them in PS CS5. We'll have to wait for ACR 6.1 for straight raw usage in CS5.
Edit: I just found this in that link, a free DNG converter for T2i raw. http://www.adobe.com/go/dng_converter_win

You are 100% correct. I found the attached page at Adobe's site and it does not list the T2i in ACR 6. Its strange that they would not include it. It must have been to close to production time. I'll bet that its available with in 6 weeks.
It also noted that there would be no more updates for CS4.
