Mac, Iphoto and RAW - 05-25-2010, 09:58 PM

Ok, so I am using Iphoto for my editting ( I know its basic but it works for me right now). I shoot in RAW and it lets me edit in Raw but I have noticed that my files are for example, 8MB and i do a simple edit (crop or even just change a highlight) and it goes to 3mb or less!! what gives and how can i fix this!!!

I don't know iPhoto very well so I'm not sure if this is it-

In CSx where x = 3, 4, or 5 you can set the crop tool to length x width x ppi. I leave ppi blank so that the image ppi isn't adjusted. Check you crop tool parameters. Doesn't Nikon have it's own software called Capture NXS or something like that?

Yes, they do, it's called Capture NX and is supposed to be very good. Kind of like Canon's DPP but better.

I have capture NX but I can't figure it out...

It changes the size no matter what I do, whether it be adjusting the lighting or changing it to BW....on the Mac forum they are telling my MB doesn't matter, only megapixels do but I beg to differ as if you have a small file, it won't print as nice when you blow it up!!
