Does anyone have suggestions for Geotagging software that will get the job done reliably? Cheap is good, free is better.
Thanks.

Please explain your complete setup. If I had a GPS unit tied direct to my camera, then PHOTOME reads the GPS data from EXIF and I can then post the photo and the map PHOTOME links my browser to.
If you have a GPS external unit, and want to geocode your photos from the external unit, I do not know how that would work. But with PHOTOME you can edit the GPS information in the EXIF per photo. Tedious I am sure.

Tedious I am sure. | What I'm looking to do is use my handheld GPS to record my track while out taking photos. I can then take that track off the GPS and into the software for which I'm searching along with the photos taken during the hike, etc. This software will take the track and find the point on that track that was recorded as close to the time associated with the photo record time and then write the coordinates from the track to the photo EXIF.
Microsoft Pro Photo Tools does a pretty job with this, but they just stopped short of making it compatible with the 50D and 7D.

I think you'll find that it does what you want, and then some. And the price is right (free).
Another option is Breeze Downloader Pro. It's not free, but it's a really nice downloader app and it can geotag your images on the fly during download.

Geosetter looks sufficient. Thanks!
I did discover that my fairly new Motorola Droid cell phone does an excellent job of recording my track with the help of "My Tracks" application. I don't really need the handheld any longer!
