I am very impressed by CS5 over CS4. I like the zoom with mouse, the seems more stable and more efficient. I don't know if it would be warranted over CS4 but definitely over CS3. I used CS3 more than CS4 even though CS4 used all my ram.

This "zoom with mouse" feature you're describing -- is this using the mouse's scroll wheel to zoom in and out? If so this is a feature that has been around for a while with Paint Shop Pro, and one that I really like. I'd like to buy into PS someday, but the cost is so over the top, it's very hard to justify for me right now. So I muddle along with PSP, making do as best I can.

No, with the eyeglass selected, if you click and hold, when you move mouse left and right it zooms in and out.

The content aware fill, by itself, is worth the CS5 upgrade price! As far as a performance boost is concerned I have not noticed much difference but I was using CS4 on pretty fast computer to begin with. If a person works with very large files (gigabyte panos for example) I imagine there would be a performance boost.

I've had CS5 for only a few hours and have used the "content aware fill" multiple times already. That feature alone is worth the upgrade.
