White Balance Temp for a Night Shot - 08-21-2010, 06:00 PM

What would you use for a WB temperature for a shot taken at night, of a view looking over the city!

There are street lights and some streets...shot in RAW. Do you usually just convert to your taste or set the temp to something specific?

Thanks,
A

Definetely use a preset or a set WB. I use the Tungsten setting 80% of the time. The rest is fluorescent and color temp set to 3200°. What ever you do DON'T us Auto WB.

You want to be able to apply one correction to the whole batch when you are finished and not have to WB each and every image you would do with AWB.

I can apply settings to a whole batch via Adobe Bridge...

Agreed, if it's natural light I'll default to Tungsten but tweak for skin tones or whatnot after.

BTW, using a flash (with flash or daylight WB) on a subject + dusk? Amazing.

You can't unless you want to use the auto feature in Bridge
