Lightroom 3 or CS5? - 08-24-2010, 10:57 PM

I currently use Photoshop CS3 with Bridge for my image editing. I have not used Lightroom up to this point. I have the choice of upgrading to CS5 or purchasing Lightroom 3. Which way would you go?

You will find valuable information in the links below. Please take time and read through all of them carefully. Although the versions of LR and PS are different in the links below, you should get the general idea. Hope this helps.

Both...

Sonny did all the helping so I thought I would post something universally worthless.

But I have both. I use LR for downloading from a card and uploading JPG's to my Zenfolio account. Other than that I don't use LR. I get everything I need (probably because I haven't taken the time to learn LR) out of CS5...

Thank you for the links, Sonny. I will catch up on some reading tomorrow morning.

Does Lightroom replace the need to use Bridge for RAW file adjustment? I really want to streamline my image processing as much as possible.

With this in mind I would go with Lightroom and use CS3 for any advanced editing requirements you have.

Thanks for the help, y'all. I ended up ordering Lightroom 3 and will hold off on CS5 for a little bit longer.

Excellent choice. If you have any questions about LR feel free to send me a PM and I'll be happy to help.

If you haven't already, you can download LR now and try it for 30 days. Since you've already ordered it you'll just need to enter the key when you get it and are sure that you want to keep it.
