Hi Tyler,

I like your treatment of the photo above as well. If you don't mind sharing, I would like to know the process as well.

Thanks! Anna

I don't take much personally on the internet... it's pretty easy for people to come off in a disagreeable manor when "internet tone" in involved.

anyway... I'd just play around with the channel mixer or color balance in PS until you get the color you want.

I've actually been experimenting with things like changing my shadow colors from black or dark gray to bluish tones, etc... then using other colors for the mids and highs.

Thanks Tyler! Yea, I like the way they turned out! I've also been messing with split toning in Lightroom and such, but it just doesn't do what I'm looking for.

hue-e: yea for sure. the photo forum i typically regulate (which is a smaller segment on a paintball forum) isn't as nice and forgiving as a typical photo forum where people can post a blown out photo and get responoses like "the composition on this is nice". it's very blunt and you just have to learn quick and take criticism (no matter how rude) in stride. it's made me much better to be honest. thanks for not getting your panties in a wad like everyone else.

Cagle,

Enough of your snide remarks about our forum members and mods. This is your first official warning. If you do not agree or like how we do things here then you're more than welcomed to move on else where. There are plenty of other forums out there.

Sorry for the delay everyone. I've had a lot on my plate these last few days. I am working on a tutorial this very moment though, and will have it uploaded to my blog today.

A few random thoughts...
1. I'm not a fan of post processing that takes over the photo.
2. I'm not a fan of using tilt/shift lenses in ways they weren't meant to be used.
3. Arriving at one's own style of photographs by independant trial & error and experimentation seems more rewarding than trying to copy another person's post processing style.
4. Everyone is free to engage in #1, #2 & #3. Go for it!
5. YMMV.
