PaintShop Pro X3 - 11-04-2010, 04:30 PM

I just downloaded the free triall version of paintshop pro x3. In the ad it says there is a book maker. I cannot find it anywhere and waited for over 20 minutes for tech and finally hung up. Is it not included with trial version, or am I blind. Also when you try to edit a photo, there is no longer a minimumizer so you can edit and crop more than one photo. Is this something that has changed or is there something I need to do to change it? Cannot seem to find much on help.

I'm curious to know what you mean by a bookmaker and a minimizer. I have PSP2 and PSP3 and don't see what you are talking about. You can do some batch processing, but bookmaker isn't there as far as I can see.

X3 is supposed to have a project creator. I finally was able to get Corel to answer and they said it is not in the trial version. X3 box is backordered. Project creator is not in X2.

When in full editor, I cannot find a way to have the organizer available. As far as I can tell, you have to switch back and forth from the full editor to the organizer to bring up more than one picture at a time. In X2 the organizer is always open. Am I missing something to bring up the organizer in full editor.

FWIW, I regularly open a second or third image by clicking on File Open. I do that to compare versions of an image, and do that in both X2 or X3.
Normally, there is a frame around each image, and I use the minimizer bar on each frame. Does that help?
I found the Organizer by going to the Help Topics, but I have never used it myself.
I just found the Organizer icon at the right end of the toolbar next to the Express Lab. You should spend some time in that lab. It gives you a great deal of control over white balances that X2 doesn't have. That has saved more than a few of my photos.

I just took a look at my CD's. There is a Project Creator with X3, but it is an application which loads separately.
I regularly open more than one image file, and work on either. Minimizing isn't necessary.
FWIW, I can have Full Editor showing or Organizer, but not both. In a case where I have multiple images open, I want the real estate on my monitor so I can see both rather than an organizer which takes up space.
What are you doing with the Organizer that can't be done another way?

I did finally realized how to open more than one image, but called and found out you could not view the organizer at the same time as editing. Also you had to retype your studio signature each time instead of it saving the last type used. I also could not get it to work using mask layers that I already had. The porject creator definitely is not for professionals. I finally sent it back and went back to my previous version. I like it better. I hope they will inprove on it for next year, or unimprove on some of the things I liked before.
I have downloaded the free trial of photoshop and do not see all the fuss. I could not easily figure out anything. I can do everything I need for a lot less money and a lot more user friendly.

I did come across fotofusion for a project creator. The enhanced versions seems to be what I need but I do not like its embellishments. I have not purchased it in hopes of finding something with more but will probably end up with it. I am thinking I can find some scrolly things for lack of a better word and just erase the background in Paint shop and paste as a new selection once composites have been created on fotofusion.

Thanks for the help,
Joyce
