Just wondering if there an easy way to create a layer mask of everything that is out of focus?

i guess not LOL,

Here is my thought process on this, PS can focus stack images, So clearly the ability to decided what is in and out of focus in already in the program. What I would like to do is simply create a layer mask on an image using that technology? is that a possibility?

PS can figure out what is out of focus if you have an in focus image to compare with. It's probably comparing contrast along edges.

I don't know, but it would sure be useful. Send that to Scott Kelby. He has an "in" with Adobe and gets all his wishlist items in the next version.

any layer masking, I simply brush by hand. I don't believe there's an easy button for quality masking no matter how good the software is.

just take an OOF picture. Mask all, done ;-)
