Kelby photoshop tour worth attending? - 01-03-2011, 03:37 PM

The Photoshop CS5 Power Tour is coming to OKC this month (just an hour and a half away from me) and am wondering if it's worth my time and money to attend. I have CS3 so might the CS5 be over my head and useless? Do they move so fast that I might not be able to catch half of what's being said? Is it mostly a sales pitch for CS5?

The nice thing about the Kelby seminars is that they give you a booklet that covers almost everything that they bring up in the lectures. There will be some things that are not mentioned but for the most part they show you on the big screens what they have in the booklets.
Yes it is a sales pitch for NAPP and for their books and DVD's. That being said, there is a lot of information packed into those books and DVDs. The Photoshop CS5 Power Tour may not be the right one for you because it will be emphasizing all the latest things you can do with CS5. That being said, it might show you the justifications for getting CS5 if you have been considering it.

Hope this helps a little.

Thanks Bruce. I got CS3 just last year so no, I'm not considering CS5 so probably won't go. Looking at the details, it looks like it's definitely geared more specifically for those who already own it. Maybe I'll save my money towards Texas School instead. Been wanting to do that for years and have never gone.

FYI - Texas School registration opens at 11 tonight. Some classes fill within minutes if not seconds.
