Re-Order and Re-name photos? - 06-22-2011, 08:41 PM

Hi, since everyone is so helpful, thought I'd ask this. I've read in Lightroom you can batch re-name, etc. Can this be done in another program or Bridge?

Basically I need to take 2000 pictures in one folder from 3 different cameras and re-order them in the correct sequence (wedding) and rename all the files so they stay in that order.

Thanks!

It can be done in both LR and Bridge.

Thanks for posting the video, but that only show to to bulk rename (which I know how to do in windows)

I was hoping there was something I could create almost like a storyboard where I can drag and drop pictures into place in the order I want them to be in, and then save them in that order.

Load all the photos into one folder and sort by 'time taken'

Bridge will let you do this. Sort them by date & time taken to start, then drag and drop the thumbnails to refine the order or storyboard as you wish, then select all the images and use the batch rename under the tools menu. Several options there to rename in what ever way you want.
