I stopped it as soon as he said, "First I do," 3 minutes into the tutorial after he had done 3 other things.

The video is out of sequence from the get go which makes it hard to believe the results follow from his sequence of steps.

You do realize is video is part 3? So he's not going to go cover everything he's done in parts 1 & 2 which btw I have posted in the Post Processing Central forum.

I understand that, but that doesn't change the fact that the presenter does a poor job of organizing his steps. This leads me to doubt, I'm a natural doubter; moreover, as an educator it bothers me to have things out of sequence when giving sequences.

No where in that video does he ever say "First I do".

@1:26 he segways into Portraiture.
@1:34 he says "first make sure your output...."


I honestly do not understand what you're talking about. His sequencing of the video is fine. He moves from the eyes, to Portraiture, to editing layers of Portraiture and it all flowed great.

If it doesn't work for you then that's OK too. Sorry you didn't like the video.
