Copy EXIF data from raw .CR2 to .tiff? - 10-16-2011, 10:13 PM

I use Photomatix Pro to process a lot of my photos. Not all the camera EXIF data makes it over to the exported .tiff images; specifically, the lens. This is useful in Photoshop Camera Raw when I do the lens correction; it picks up the lens automatically. When I process my .tiffs exported from Photomatix, I have to tell it which lens it was. This can be a pain if I used multiple lenses, but worse, when trying to lens-correct a .tiff, not all the lenses show up in the drop-down box. When editing the .CR2 file, I see a LONG list of Canon lenses appear. When editing the HDR .tiff, I see far fewer; specifically, the EF 100mm f/2.8 macro is not available on the drop-down when I am processing .tiffs.

So, either I need to tweak a setting in Photoshop to show me all the lenses, or I need a program that will import selected EXIF data from the raw .CR2 to the .tiff.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

You can do it with exiftool. It can do just about anything you might ever want with image metadata.
