Um, why spend the extra money on Camera Control 2, if you already have LR3?

Plug the usb cable in the camera and launch lightroom.

The only big feature that Nikon Camera Control Pro 2 offers that LR3 doesn't have is Live View.

I agree with Ken. Save some cash and use LR3.

Well, I went ahead and used LR this weekend tether to my camera.
I did read in some places that it was buggy and Marshall also mentioned it!!!
It was great that you can see the images while your shooting, but it was slow and it would stop working at time.....

I need to FIND out what was causing it to stop working......

thanks

Angel,
What Nikon camera and what version of LR3 (current with updates?). Also, try using a different cable with it to rule that out.

You can use Camera control and have LR watching the directory for auto import. You get the best of both worlds.

Nikon D700
1.00 I just found the new Ver. 1.02 is out
LR3 latest update 3.5

I did try 2 different USB cables but not the extension, because I only had one of those. I am going to or 2 more cables and 2 more extensions!

In the d700 setting menu, change the USB settings to PTP, try and see if that fixes. If not use Mass Storage.

LR3 quits working for me too. Buggy. Aperture was more consistent.

I also order new cables and updated my firmware to 1.2, I hope this fixes the problem, because I sure do like shooting tethering on location when I have a 10 hour day!!!!
