They don't support Windows 98, either. Cotton pickin' technological advancements.

I am still running xp on my primary machine. Vista was a train wreck. And honestly because my computing consist of web surfing, photoshop, lightroom, email, and maybe playing music and movies from time to time, there was nothing that called for a new operating system.

Vista would have been a move in the wrong direction.

Windows 7 has only been commercially available since late 2009, and being gunshy of another lemon puts that somewhere closer to feb 2010. We are not yet 2 years into a reliable product to replace XP

Lightroom is the first software that I have encountered that makes me think I should upgrade.

Guess I need to save more money than I anticipated

I have to disagree re XP vs. W7. I've been using the latter for over a year now, and I like it much better than XP (once I became familiar with it). It "sings like a canary" on my custom-built machine.

I was honestly surprised that MS is still supporting XP and will do so for another 2 years.
