I have been fighting with a strange pattern on some images from my D700
It covers the entire image and frankly screws up the image quality massively.

Take a look at the hands in this example - (No there was not some sort of henna bhangra design) I have many images with this same pattern -


This is a 100% of a shot at 1250 iso 1/100 F10 with a 70-200VRII


Any Ideas ?

btw --- this almost looks like a overlay of some nature as it covers the entire image

Is this straight out of the camera?
Looking along contrasty edges, it looks over sharpened or a high amount of jpeg compression

Yes, this seems like caused by high ISO and jpg compression.
