Better tip: in Bridge, if you select an image then hit Command-R on a Mac (I'm guessing but maybe it would be Control-R on a PC) to call up the ACR interface w/o having to open PS to set the RAW parameters... I only discovered this trick a few months ago and it's a major time-saver!

yes, it is CTRL-R but if the images are already open in Bridge, select CTRL-A first, then CTRL-R

Also- You can edit one in ACR from Bridge and then apply the settings to the other images that you opened in Bridge.

Couple of things to 'fix' in the default Bridge settings:

Camera Raw Preferences > Save Image Settings in: Sidecar ".xmp" files. That way you don't lose your changes if you move the files to another machine.

Preferences > Advanced: Check the "Double Click edits Camera Raw Settings in Bridge". Now Bridge is hosting Camera Raw instead of PS. Same thing as the 'Command-R' tip above, but a permanent change to the default behavior.

Unless you are a Nikon shooter and installed some of Nikon's products. They are getting better about this, but some of their older software (like Capture 4) would silently install the Nikon NEF controls that would open in the place of ACR. If you are not seeing ACR when you open your RAW files in Bridge or CS2 then you need to find and delete any plug-ins your camera manufacturer has installed.

What is the file extension? If it's TIF, PSD, JPG... and whatever other formats there are the file will open in CS2 (if you made teh changes recommended above ^^^ ).

Raw files have different extensions depending on which camera took them. Mine are CR2's.

If you are going to be using ACR with CS2 I highly suggest you get a copy of this book and study it.

This is something I learned from Shutterflypro.

In Bridge, go to Edit, Preferences, then Advanced. On the right side under Misc, check "Double-clicks edits Camera Raw settings in Bridge"

Ditto that. This book will help you understand how Bridge and ACR works and also design a workflow that will make your life easier.
