Thanks a bunch for all the great info in the thread. I went through some of the ideas in the thread and wanted to contribute. I couldn't see all the examples listed so I just played with the settings mentioned till I found something interesting. I've used the high pass filter many times in the past and found it does some cool effects.

Since I'm not at home, I grabbed an old down-sized photo so the quality isn't great. Just wanted to show the effects. Any help in the post-processing realm is greatly appreciated.
