Experience with Portrait Professional software? - 02-22-2007, 08:17 PM

http://www.portraitprofessional.com

Anyone have experience with this. Good or bad? I just stumbled across it and downloaded the trial. It is pretty impressive. I didn't realize there was software out these that would do this. Since the trial won't let me save/see a final output image, I am a little wary of purchasing.

Has anyone used this?
Anything else out there that is comparable/better?
BTW, $50 is all I'd be able/willing to spend for something like this.

OMG.....What a joke!

Along with retouching the skin, all they're really doing is warping the face.....looking at some of the Before & Afters made me laugh so hard!!!
If you know photoshop, any and all of these features already exist and can be done.
If you're a little unsure about Photoshop, then for $50, it may be worth it.....just take it easy on the face warping.
The skin retouching looks pretty good though.
The question is, for having to pay money and learn this software, would you be willing to learn the same thing with Photoshop and pay nothing?
And, is it really that much easier than Photoshop. Skin retouching literally takes less than a couple of minutes in Photoshop.
Also, there are a couple of Skin Retouching Plug-Ins that do a pretty darn good job that I think cost about the same.

This software just didn't do anything for me.....but to each his/her own
.....just my 2cents

Yep.. I got it for $29 and it works well. You just have to ignore the initial "warping". Turn that crap off. It does a good job with other things like toning down hotspots, evening out skin tone, etc...

As Mr. Loft said, it can all be done in PS. And most of the time I do my work in PS.. However, there are times where using this cheap little app actually produces a bit better results than I can produce. Many times, not. Just depends...

I tried the trial version and it was pretty neat.

Evening out the skin tone feature is much sharper and smoother than what I can achieve on my own on CS2.

So, where did you get yours for $29?

From them as a promotion when it was first released.

I really liked the spot removal, airbrushing, and the extra cleanup on the eyes. I haven't purchased yet, because if I can find an airbrushing method that doesn't involve painting on the effect, I'll do that and save the money. I don't mind masking OFF the effect on eyes, but painting it on is extremely tedious. The rest of it I can do (except the "sculpting" which I would not feel right about doing anyway).

I'll probably end up buying it because it's a LOT faster than I am. ;)
