RAW workflow help

I have been using RAW for a couple of months now. And have been pretty happy with the results but lately I have seen some photos that just look like "WOW" they are so sharp and crip and was wondering if any of you would share some tips on how to make pictures "POP" Now I look at my pictures and they seem to be missing the WOW factor..any advice...I use DPP as my RAW processor.. --------------------------- Canon 5D, 5D Mark II- LCanon 50mm 1.2 Canon 100mm F2 - Canon 24-105 F4 IS L - Canon 70-200 F2.8 IS L - Canon 580EX |

increased contrast = Yes saturation = Yes, increasing shadow levels = now On this example I feel the picture doesn't have POP...it was taken under natural light it looks soft and flat...and was wondering how to fix that..  --------------------------- Canon 5D, 5D Mark II- LCanon 50mm 1.2 Canon 100mm F2 - Canon 24-105 F4 IS L - Canon 70-200 F2.8 IS L - Canon 580EX |

Not sure if this is what you're looking for or not..but here is my quick interpretation. Ran through a few things in PS that I normally do with my portraits. |
