Repeating Watermark - 03-05-2007, 01:46 PM

I'd like to create a repeating watermark to place on certain images for web use. What I mean by repeating is that it appears as a pattern over the entire image. Can anyone offer instructions or a link to a tutorial for PSCS2?

Here's one way

1) Make the watermark you want in a new blank page
(i.e. Text / logo etc). It should be Black on white, but can be shades of black/white/grey

2) Use the box selector to select the design

3) Goto menu: Edit -> Define Pattern
Then save your new pattern. (You can also 'define brush and save the same thing as a new brush for use on an image)

4) On the image you want to watermark:
a) make a new layer
b) menu: Edit -> Fill , select the pattern you just defined
c) Reduce the opacity of the layer (Maybe to 30%)
d) Alternatly or in conjunction with c: you can defind a blend/layer style mode (like differance/hardlight/luminocity/etc to achieve a different kind of watermark.

Voila.

You can also define the whole "new layer/Fill/Opacity" thing as an action to make it easy.

Thanks, Brian! I'm working with it right now and think I might be on my way to something I can use.
