Oh I completely understand. Maybe offering up such "info" isn't something that should be posted on here, but it is readily available and is a moral thing. I wouldn't want someone doing that to my photos you're right. I guess I'm looking at it from a Robin Hood perspective which still doesn't make it right.

I'll also say that Paint Shop Pro is a very nice editor & if you find it on sale or find a rebate, it's well worth it for all you get. I was using the 7th edition & it was great. I hope I still have the .exe backed up somewhere because I'm not sure if I remember the info to download my purchased (licensed) version. Picassa is also pretty nice, I just don't think some of the simple functions like resize are there or are obvious to find...I mainly use it to upload to the web & for a image viewer.

all my "The week Austin bloomed" photos were first converted raw to tif (use your choice) and then I used the free XnView to post process and convert to web jpeg.

www.xnview.com (uses lots of photoshop plugins)

Photoshop elements is sometimes included free with some scanners. If you have a need for a scanner check it out. Sometimes there is a special offer to upgrade from photoshop elements to the full pro version of photoshop at a special price with a scanner.

Also, if you are taking any classes anywhere, check to see if you can get student versions at discounts if you are using it only for personal use.

I was able to order Photoshop Elements for $60 plus tax last night from www.staples.com. My son has been using a trial version and decided he would like to use it. There is an additional $20 rebate, which I will satisfy by supplying the version screen from Picasa, which is a great free entry tool, especially when combined with there online photo galleries.

That is one of the few things I DID like about Picasa.... resizing is as simple as selecting a file (or files) then clicking the 'export' button. It will bring up a menu allowing you to not only select a folder to export to (defaults to mypictures/Picasa exports), but also what size to resize to , or keep full size. You could also use the 'email' button, but that pulls up your default email client and a new message as well as resizing.... but if you are resizing to email, there you go!
