CS2 Action Error message--Windows XP

On some actions (such as Kubota Digital Fill Flash, just as one example), I get an error msg from CS2 that says something like "The command "select" is not currently available". The action seems to run normally if I click OK, but of course, I can't really tell what it might have looked like otherwise.


Do I have some preference set wrong in CS2?

Often that happens when you run an action in a different mode than the one it was created for (e.g., on a 16-bit image, or not on an RGB colour mode image, or if it expects/ doesn't expect an area of the image to be pre-selected, or you run it on a mask instead of the image.

That sort of thing.

I've seen the 16 bit vs 8 bit issue in some cases, but in the instances I'm referring to, changing the mode doesn't fix it. Also, I'm working from a flat image file with nothing selected when I get this.

Is it an actual action you are running ? If so, can you open it up and look at which step is failing ? Could be it was written/recorded for CS or an older version too, or it didn't expect to be run on the background layer (there's some differences in what you can do on just a background layer vs other layers)

It's a Kubota Action, supposed to be CS2 compatible. When I change the background to just a "layer" (not background), it still gives the same error.
