Do you guys totally come up with your album designs on your own or do you use a program with templates? There are some pretty good effects that I have seen in some albums that I just don't know how to do. Just seems like if you had a good set of templates it would make things so much easier than constructing each page totally from scratch.

i use templates.
making albums is my least favorite part of my job...lol.
some of hte different album companies have their own software, and then there are packages that you can purchase that contain templates (i have the kevin kubota one).

I design all mine from scratch. I have two degrees, one in photography and another in Graphic Design. I have worked as an Art Director at several fims. Now that I am doing photography full time desiging albums is the perfect little layout break for me.
It does take a bit longer but they are unique. As long as your images are strong and your album is constructed well the client will be very happy.

I use a mixture of software templates and custom.
Actually, album layout is my favorite post shoot activity.

For some reason I thought I remembered seeing a layout design template for Graphistudio albums a while back. Now I can't find it anywhere. Am I just crazy or do they have such a thing?

Does anyone that are doing it from scratch have any online examples? I'd like to see what I am missing out on by using an album design app. Lumapix is actually, more of a hybrid..it can design it for you, or you can use it to customize your own.
Just curious to compare the differences vs. time...I personally do not have enough time to custom design without a few tools to help...LOL Then again, I haven't been doing many lately... :( | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
