Divide and conquer... - 03-19-2007, 10:13 AM

Can anyone give me a hand? I need to divide a "page" diagonally, and make each half a different color?

Thanks

I'm not real clear on what you mean. Is this what you are talking about?

Thanks, Kevin, yes it is. Then I would need to set the color of the "other half" to say blue.

Photoshop, right? Just create a selection from corner to corner (creating that triangle) and fill it with whatever color you like. Then invert the selection and do the same to the other side--or leave half the layer transparent and put a solid colour layer beneath it.

It's not CS2 but you get the idea...

Step 1: starting with a blank screen,

Step 2: Use the Polygonal Lasso Tool to select the triangle you want to fill with color (click in the top left corner, click in the bottom right corner, click in the bottom left corner, then finish back in the top left):

Step 3: Then, fill the selection with color using the Paint Bucket Tool:

Step 4: Invert the selection (Select >> Inverse or Shift+Ctrl+I):

Step 5: Fill the new selection with your other color (using the Paint Bucket Tool):

Step 6: "Esc" to clear the selection and here's the finished result:

The selection lines were too small to show up well... hopefully the text will give you an idea of what it should look like.

No problem...

They probably weren't showing up because I reuploaded them larger to see if the selection lines would show up (unfortunately, no luck there).
