setting a droplet and an action for logo - 03-24-2007, 10:47 PM

Ok, so I am trying to automate my workflow. I use instaproofs to show my prints online to clients and they give you a nice copyright image all over your images and don't allow the right click option. HOWEVER, some of my savvy clients still seem to steal the photos off the site although I can't figure out how. So I wanted to create a droplet that put my own logo on each picture so at least when they take the pics it will have my name plastered all over it. So anyway, I created an action then a droplet that resized and put my logo on each picture. But for some reason it will only resize the picture and just completely skip the logo part. I don't know what I am doing wrong?

Any ideas?

I spent several hours trying to do it all different ways and always got the same results, so I am really hoping someone can help me

I can't help you with the droplet, but I used Doc Brown's action with a path based version of my logo. The link was posted here in this thread. The key is having your action as a vector based image rather than raster.

Who designed your logo, Scott?

I think d2creative (Dennis) did... he's a really good designer (and helped me with a business card too!)

CS2 does vectors but I'm not sure how powerful it is. I know Illustrator is the big vector drawings package.

Thanks, Daniel. Both Scott's and yours look good. When I'm ready, I'll give him a shout.

Its very easy to do. Usually all you have to do is either disable Javascript or view the document source and load the image URL directly in the browser. That disables any right-click protection. A screen capture will also work for a low-res image.

Right-click "protection" isn't really all that protective. It only keeps people who don't have an extra 10 seconds from grabbing your images. It is done using javascript, which is a client-side technology. If it is run on the client machine, it can be overcome by the client machine.
