epson r1800 question - 03-26-2007, 11:28 AM

some time ago I read an article talking about replacing the r1800 color inks to different grades of black inks which in turn converted your r1800 into a black and white printer. I have done many searchs online and not finding any reference to this conversion. can anyone provide me to a link with a good write up, I would like to pick up another r1800 printer for this conversion. thanks

Piezography Neutral K7 inks are the ones I think you are looking for.

Here's one site: http://www.adventurecamphoto.com/coneinks.htm

You have to use QTR software for this conversion.

That's the Quadtone RIP it's a 50 dollar share ware and well worth it. I use it with my 1280 MIS print set up.
