does anyone know where I can get a good action for creating B&W from color? I can do it but it would be nice to be able to run an action and have the software do it for me. Oh I use CS2

I like to use Alien Skin Exposure.
I also have Convert to B&W Pro 3.0
I use them both. Each for their own reason.

BTW, there is much more to converting to B&W than just desaturating and adding contrast.

Scott I know there is a lot more to it than that. I just want a good starting point then I can do fine adjustments from there. I have been doing a conversion in lightroom of the RAW file then sending to CS2 as a tiff and adjusting from there.
I guess I should add that I have been doing mostly portraits of people.

I love the Kubota hot chocolate action. Not for everyone, but it is a beautiful soft b&w.

Here is one I have book markedPJ Martin Fuchs' blog.

It is both a tuturial and you will end up with an action from it. Here is the tutorial.

I use for CS2 Alien Skin Exposure and for C1 the JFI Color Labs curves.
