Lost Actions - 05-14-2007, 11:36 PM

Ok Photoshop burped or had a brain fart and I lost ALL my actions...ALL of them. I can't find one anywhere except the crappy ones that come with photoshop.

I have searched for *.atn and only find the crappy ones and the ones I bought from Tricoast.

anyone have any ideas as to where the heck they might be or where and how to look for them on the hard drive.

Clint, did you search in hidden files and folders? It's a checkbox under the "More advanced options".

Your actions are in the photoshop preferences file, not individual .atn files. They get into atn format when you save them. Do a search on the adobe photoshop user forum for action prefs and you might get some help there. Are you logged in as the same user? Did you recently change monitors? Some preferences (like pallet locations) are based on your workspace which is affected by the monitor resolution. HTH...

When I first read it, I thought you said "and the crappy ones I bought from Tricoast".

Don't mean to hijack - I've never used actions (photoshop novice) - anyone have some URL's of some interesting ones?

Been looking for "powder / face smoothing" type of action.. any others appreciated.

Clint,

Check your trashcan in case something deleted them.

the same thing happened to me last week. Luckily I saved all my actions to a seperate folder named "Actions".

were any of your actions zipped? you might try looking for those?

Hope you get it figured out!

I saved all my actions into an Actions folder on my desktop and also downloaded that folder to a flash drive I keep in my pocket.
