Who uses Miller's? - 05-15-2007, 10:45 AM

I'm perusing Miller's site right now and trying to decide if I need to become a customer. I've been using Mpix, which has worked fine, but I'm wondering if I should switch to Miller's. Any thoughts? (Sorry if this has been discussed ad nauseum previously.)

Miller's has some products that they don't make available on Mpix... including mounting options.

I have been a Millers customer for some time, and other than their Miller's Press stuff driving me crazy, it has been a good relationship.

And just in case you missed it - MPIX is the public brand of Millers. If that makes sense. Same company - with some different products depending on if you do MPIX or Millers, like Brad already mentioned.

Thanks, Holly. Yes, I know Mpix is a division of Miller's. I'm just not sure if I need to make the change and go with Miller's all the way. I guess as I need something that Mpix doesn't offer, I'll make the transition then.

Thanks for the input, folks.

I've used Miller's a few times and here's my suspicion: you can order anything that mpix offers from Miller's for more than twice as much for the exact same product. I couldn't tell ANY difference on my prints. No scientific data here, just a little opinion.

I think you'll be OK, they have a thin candy shell. I'm surprised you didn't know that.

I was recently disappointed when I contacted MPIX (I do a lot of prints with them) to inquire if they could handle printing some 20x30 prints. These prints were going to be for the local high school marching band. The customer service rep told me they couldn't do that size, but Miller's could. However, I would have to provide a tax ID, and 50% of my income had to come from photography in order to use them. Thus, I had to ultimately find another source. Might be a consideration for you.

The Mpix web site shows that they print that size.

We just printed about 5 20x30 prints from MPIX. They have that size and they printed out beautifully.

Millers has custom papers that MPIX doesnt have. When we order on linen paper, we use Millers. When we want a hot foil stamp, we use Millers. When we want a 30x40 we use Millers. Its nice to have the option.

Most of the time, we order from MPIX.
