Still learning new tricks in PS - 06-11-2007, 08:42 PM

So i'm still doing some self training type stuff in photoshop and wanted to get some C&C.

We had some friends in from out of town and closed down a local club the other night. It was hot as hell in there and this poor waitress was bustin her but to make sure everyone was happy. But even took the time to cheese for my camera. For what i have been learning the photo was a great test.

Before

After

| Canon EOS 7D | 24-70mm f/2.8L | 75-300 F/4-5.6 | 50mm f/1.8 | 580EX II | 430EX | Vanguard Tracker 3 Tripod |

Photography does not make me money, but its my escape from life and that is priceless.

I Try not to suck.. see?

Good work, Scott - it's unobtrusive but definitely improves the look of the photo.

Pretty good Dude! I hope you're a big tipper....

You've avoided the most common mistake of all photoshtop artistery, that is, overdoing it. Good job.

Pay close attnetion to the color correction, after we look at a picture for a while our brains make the color correction for us, like when we first put on sunglasses. Can you tell, now that it's mentioned, that her skin is just a little cyan?

If you have any interest or time, run a photo of yours though this simple tutorial. All published photos go through these steps, every one.

Am I the only one not seeing the pictures? I see the words "before" and "after" but that's about it.

i honestly can't tell you did much, but the reduction of hot spots on her face looks pretty good.

btw, raymond, your tutorial on image correction 101 is great! you captured the first and most critical step very well. that's exactly how ben wilmore taught it at the ps workshop i saw him at last fall.

oh...except you called the hue/sat control the "hue/brightness" control.
