I want to add a few new sizes to Adobe Camera Raw so that I can output a file as a 4x6. My vision is to batch correct proofs using bridge, then in ACR's workflow options set it to the resolution I want. Then, I want to save the images to a folder so I can easily upload a bunch of 4x6's to have proofs printed. The problem I'm having right now is that the correct resolution for a 4x6 is 1200x1800 but that isn't an option with ACR. Now I guess I could just upload it at something close to that size and let Millers interpolate it however they want but that annoys me. I simply want to give them a 4x6 at 300dpi to print and be done with it. Does anyone know how to do what I want? I've been googling for a while now and I cant find any info on adding additional size options to ACR. | | | | | Sponsored Links | Premium Members do not see Google advertisements. You can't do it. You'll need to either run them through Image Processor or set up a PS action and batch it from Bridge.

Well crap on a stick, I was trying to cut out the whole action annoyance I kinda figured as much though. Thanks Bill!

Give Image Processor a try, you don't need to write an action that way.

Yeah, I'm mildly embarrassed to admit that until 5 minutes ago I didn't know what Image Processor was! I did some googling, looks like a simpler way to do it than an action. Thanks Jeff!

Just FWIW, I did suggest Image Processor before batching an action in my post :-). I'd probably end up using an action, because chances are pretty good I'd already have an action set up to do what I wanted. If I didn't have an action already set up though, I'd go with Image Processor.

Yes indeed, you did mention it! I blame 5 am and frustration I can do actions, and batch process with them...I just prefer not to. For some reason batch processing with actions just never seems too user friendly to me.

The batch processing stuff is potentially disastrous -- you can easily overwrite all your originals. I've played around with it enough I'm reasonably confident I'm not going to do that any more -- yes, that means I've done it, more than once! But when I write actions now I design them so they can be easily used from batch processing.

Yeah, every time I've batched something I've copied all the images to a separate folder on a different part of the drive (ie: a new desktop folder) or something like that so that I could feel CERTAIN that even if I botched it, I still had all the originals! Luckily I haven't overwritten any originals, I'd surely yell a lot if that occured! | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
