Aperture or Lightroom? Processor Issues? - 06-14-2007, 02:51 PM

I am considering moving to Aperture or Lightroom for post-processing. Technical specs on each of these programs asks for at least a 1Ghz G-4 processor (Mac side) (1 for Lightroom, 1.25 for Aperture), but I have an 867 Mhz G-4 Titanium laptop. Has anyone here run into similar issues, and, if so, would these programs be slower than molasses on my computer. (I can't upgrade the box at this time)? Is it even worthwhile considering buying them? I will probably download them for a free trial and see what happens unless someone here has a clear answer on this. Thanks.

I'd say that Lightroom might be usable. Aperture is more dependent on the GPU, and I doubt you'll even be able to install it, much less use it.

Aperture is slow on my dual 2.0 G5, so on a single G4..... Well, take it for what its worth.
