Did you upgrade to CS3? - 06-20-2007, 03:17 PM

So how many people have actually upgraded to CS3? If you have upgraded what was your major reason for doing so? Is it worth it or is it more like the difference between Windows XP and Vista?

Nope. I've heard some horror stories about bugs and poor performance, so I'm going to wait until the dust settles.

I went ahead and upgraded and, unlike the beta, the upgrade works like a charm. The new Bridge is just about worth the price since it is just a whole lot faster. I don't think the PS upgrades are really leaps but more like stair steps in improvements, however, you could wait until the next one comes along in a couple of years. However, I did not get the expanded pr whatever its called. It is more for video and 3D which I don't really need.

I am using Vista and I also upgraded, just did an update this morning fixed the only bug I had... I would completely recommend CS3 for Vista users.

The new ACR is wayyyy better!

I have two days left on my trial version, but it's been working like a charm. I'll upgrade once the trial expires.

I have to go with CS3 because I cant seem to find a dealer providing CS2 (Pshop only)...

But at least I'll be at the top...for about a 6 months - year until something new comes out.

I haven't done it yet, but plan to real soon. Better and faster are good. However Vista is another story. I usually stay one generation behind on Microsoft products. Most of my machines are still running Win 2000, but I have one XP machine bought last June.

No, waiting for CS4. I'm still learning CS2 so don't feel the need and am saving my pennies for a tripod & ballhead.

I upgraded before it was available (pre-order for download) after using the beta. CS3 itself has some nice additions, but nothing in and of itself that would compel me to upgrade. I upgraded to extended; I don't do 3D, but extended also has some additional Merge to HDR features, and measure stuff. But the main reason I upgraded was to get ACR 4 (and now 4.1).

I'm planning on upgrading from CS sometime next week. Mainly for the better bridge and ACR features, which were rather bare in CS, even compared to CS2.

I did because it cost me $125 for the whole creative suite premium.

Yes I did.

Can't see how I functioned before...

Camera Raw 4 cuts my workflow by at least 33%. I heart Adobe!
