CS2 or CS3 - 06-24-2007, 10:01 PM

I am looking to upgrade from Photoshop Elements 5 to CS2 or CS3. I would really rather get CS2 since it is only half the price. I just want to be able to use the Tricoast Finding Colors and Raymond's (Shutterflypro) actions. Is CS2 enough?

Thanks,
Lisa

CS2 will run both, but CS3 is sooooooo nice.

I am thinking the same - still have 7.0.
Are you considering the purchase from the bookroom on this site for less than 300 ?
F.W.I.W. I heard that some education discounts are very favorable.

Considering that your moving from Elemets, I'd suggest you consider CS2. You'll have a big handfull to learn while the price drops on the CS3 upgrade.

Yes, CS3 is really nice, but I can't think of anything that CS2 can't do.

Just a thought. Good luck with all this....

My two pennies...

There are two major improvements that drove me to upgrade from CS2 to CS3: 1) A better Bridge; and 2) huge ACR improvement. For me those two alone are worth the move to CS3. However, there are several new things in PS that help me to be more productive. All things considered, it's a smart upgrade.

Also forgot to mention that CS3 manages your RAM 1,000,000 X better than CS2.

I am at 7.0 and have so much to learn on it, I'm wondering why I would purchase 2.0 let alone 3.0??? With my cameras I feel like I at least feel like I'm familiar with the settings on it, but with PS, there are SO MANY things I have no clue about and don't use, I don't see any use for upgrading,....am I crazy???? or just a beginner

I don't know what you're planning on spending on CS2, but CS3 is available for $289 from here: http://www.academicsuperstore.com/ma...?PartNo=798255. If you have kids in any level of school you qualify. If not, find a cousin or something.

You have no idea what you're missing. :-) CS3's Bridge, ACR, PS improvements, and speed all make the program a real gem, especially if you're a serious amateur or professional. And I haven't mastered any version of PS yet!

Now all Sonny has to do is teach me how to use it.
