Lightroom 1.1 Question - 07-07-2007, 05:04 PM

I received a new laptop yesterday and I couldn't get through to Adobe to activate the installation of CS3 (which was upgrade CD from CS2) ... so I went ahead and installed lightroom and then downloaded upgrade and installed it. I finally got through to the telephone registration for CS3 and was able to activate the software. However when I now start lightroom and then when I am through making changes to an image in the develop module and want to open in PS, the only choice available to open is "Open in CS2" not CS3 .... I looked through preferences and don't see an option to change.

I tried to uninstall/reinstall lightroom but I get the same result.

In case it makes a difference, the OS is Vista Home Premium

Any suggestions appreciated.

Randy

Just add a secondary app to the list and point it to the correct Photoshop.exe

Then it'll be CTRL+ALT+E to develop.

Thanks everybody .. it is an "Area51" from Alienware. Andrew I did that already and that seems to be the work-around ... just kinda weird that the default comes up I right click, to edit in CS2, not CS3 ... not a biggie just thought it was weird. My home desktop works fine and comes up with default of CS3 ...

thanks again.

I want to get Lightroom and was wondering how many licenses you get with the program.

I have not read through the license, but I don't see why it would not allow it on two machines. ie., one desktop and one laptop. Never been sure about the one desktop at work and one desktop at home thing.

Last time I checked(bought a copy actually) Amazon was still charging $199.00 for it...

Dora -

I have it loaded it on my desktop and laptop ... I believe it is licensed for two machines. However, it didn't require the "activation" like photoshop did so you might get lucky and it might work on more than two. I don't know.

Thanks, I will need it on at least 2 computers. I didn't know you could get it from Amazon, I was going to pay $299 from Adobe.

It's licensed like PS: it can be installed on two computers but can only be used on one computer at a given time.
