22" Wide Screen Monitor Problem I think? - 07-10-2007, 08:43 AM

I got a new 22” Samsung Wide screen monitor and have not been able to find the settings that will give me a normal view when in CS3 or Light Room ? Too much stretch and I’m sure to botch some photos as in distorting them..

How can I resolve this problem or will I have to get a regular monitor ?

Thanks for your HELP ! ;-)

What screen resolution are you using in the video driver?

If your display adapter card is old, the driver may not support the native resolution of the device. Check the documentation on the monitor to find it's native resolution, then make sure that the driver is set the same. There should be no distortion of the image if these numbers match.

actually, doesn't the aspect ratio of the image display depend on the monitor driver?

You would think so but on that one it stretched to fit the screen?????????

I took it back and got the SyncMaster 931c 19" Boy is this monitor AWESOME...

Thanks for the reply’s guy's! but I just changed monitors and never figured out what the deal was I even call the geeks @ best buy but they wanted me to bring in my pc to look @ it But I didn't want to spend more money with them and they would not help me over the phone. So they got the monitor back & I went to Fry's to buy the 19"er..
