Graphics card is not an issue with Lightroom, but it is with Aperture.

Paul, 90 percent of my PP is done with Aperture. The other 10 percent is with PSCS2.
I just love Aperture and would not change for anything. Yes, the cost was definitely worth it for me.

But, it's really what you get used to, so pick the one you feel will serve you best and stick with it.

i love lightroom, and use a macbook pro.

aperture was just not as user-friendly to me for whatever reason (i downloaded trials of both lightroom and aperture and tried out both). i shoot weddings a lots of portrait sessions, so i am doing a lot of culling through image and minor adjustments... which lightroom handles very easily.

there is no concrete reason i prefer lightroom, it just felt/looked/moved around easier for me and was easier to figure out without having to do too much manual-reading.
