Photo printer - 07-29-2007, 06:24 AM

I'm looking to purchase a photo printer... I'm wanting to spend about 200 max (plus tax of course) on a new printer... Any suggestions? Epson? Kodak? Canon? HP?

I'd like it to be ab all-in-one printer so that I could print, copy, and scan with it! Good or bad idea?

All-in-one bad idea, our helpdesk a few years ago tracked call and problems with printers and all-in-ones had more problems than any other kind of printer.

Besides, you won't be able to get photo quality prints from an all-in-one. Take a look at some of the Epson refurbs from their R line of printers.

I have an Epson R340 already... It gave me some good prints at first.... Then I mainly used it for some word documents and then I did not use it for a few months... I went to use it again and it gave me really bad looking photo prints... I talked to a couple of people and they said if you don't use the epson printers for a while it can ruin the printheads... I'm guessing that's what happened maybe?

I had two Epson printers (each over $500) that got clogged print heads and would not work any longer. This was over 5 years ago and the problem has probably been resolved but I'm still not wanting another Epson printer for that reason.
