not to veer off topic but have a newb question, it will be a while before Ill make it up to being able to afford cs3. I am wanting to start out on one of the older versions. I am working on a Mac and have seen both photoshop elements 4.0 and photoshop 4.0 which one of the two has the most stuff on it? Hope that makes sense and sorry for changing topics.

I believe that Photoshop Elements 4.0 is the latest version or the next to latest. Photoshop CS3 is I believe version 10.0 so version 4.0 is prior to 1999 and would not have as many features as Elements 4.0

If you have an Intel Mac, you cannot use any OS 9 (classic) software. The older OS is only supported on PPC processors. Any OS X native (not necessarily Intel Universal) version will work on Intel Macs in Rosetta emulation mode. You would be well served to check with Adobe before purchasing any software to insure compatibility.

I refuse to deal with Wal-Mart online again.

I had ordered the CS3 upgrade when they first advertized it with a discount.
They took the order. Then one week later Walmart sent an email the day of the scheduled delivery canceling the order. I checked the website and I could order it for $30 more that day - IN STOCK. I called Wal-Mart. They said they would "research" the cancellation.

Finally 3 weeks later they called back and said it was their right to cancel the order at any time, and besides they no longer carried the item. I should have ordered it at the higher price while it was available and THEN requested a refund for the "overcharge". I thanked them for their superior customer service. It will be a cold day in hell before I visit that web site again. Pursuing this further was simply not worth the aggravation and my time.
