Lightroom Newbie Q - 08-05-2007, 08:28 AM

Okay so finally I decided it was time to make the switch and bought lightroom, a good invest of 99.00(student). Loaded the software and then downloaded the update. Read through the book and tried a few things, even processed a few photos. Sent them in Output as PSD because I wanted to check them out in Photoshop. In lightroom I can't find the "edit in Photoshop" they referred to instead all I can find is "edit in other". So I open photoshop, locate the file in question and open it, it has the adjustments made in lightroom so far so good. Then I go to save it for up putting to the web and there is no JPEG option. URGH WTF over. I have one website that supports TIF and one that does GIF but both use JPEG. In addition on the one that has TIF some others can see the photos and some can't to include myself. So am I just missing the JPEG option or ???????

I just ordered Lightroom from B&H about an hour ago. It cost me a lot more than $99.00! I downloaded the trial version a few days ago and it fits my needs perfectly. Mainly I'll be using it to catalog and rate all my back-up cd's and photos. The rating system is very fast, it should be a huge improvement over what I was using. If anybody has any tips on using this program please pass them on.

Digital daddy and I got ours last week, I haven't had much time to get into all of it. I got PS3 extended the week before that and still playing with it. It would be nice to hear from some Lightroom pros!
