Favorite Panorama Program? - 08-08-2007, 09:28 PM

What's your favorite?

I have used Autostitch demo for quick and dirty stuff. I just downloaded the demo of Autopano and it seems pretty good.

I tried the stitcher in Photoshop but was not impressed.

So what's the best?

Cheers
James

I like AutoPano Pro, but I also occasionally use PTGui because on the rare occasions when I need to manually create control points.

Autopano Pro is by far the best, IMHO.

I LOVED Auto Stitch demo. What a great little program. I would go for AutoPano pro as well because it takes the basic functionality of Auto Stitch with enhancements. Auto stitch was and still is awesome for a demo program but when you throw commercial software developers at it, it gets even better.

Autopan Pro - 08-09-2007, 09:58 AM

By far the best I have used, download the demo, give it a shot. I believe you can adjust the control points in this software also.

They have a control point editor that allows you to remove control points, or select an area to scan for new control points. But I haven't found any way to actually click on areas in an image to create new control points - at least, not in 1.3; I haven't tried any newer alphas/betas because in my past experience they tend to be pretty buggy.

Autostitch if you are looking for fun and free. Excellent Program.

When it comes to the hard stuff, and I have done several hundred panos, my choice is PTGUI. I love the control, and even the job it does on automatic.

I would not trade it for the world.

Good luck and please feel free to ask as many questions as you would like.

Thanks,

George
