Corel Paint Shop Pro 9 - 08-16-2007, 09:28 PM

I just found this program in a drawer in my desk, I have no idea how it got there! I started fooling around with it, but it's quite unintuitive (is that a word). Does anyone know of any good online resources for this program?

I'm probably biased because I've used PSP since it was shareware circa 1990.... but I find Photoshop to be the un-intuitive one. It's all about what you're used to, I guess.

Corel's got some online help for it... link is above.

PSP 9 is the primo version IMHO, it went downhill after that according to some users. I've been using it since it came out and will as long as I can.

BTW, it is working just fine on Windows Vista.

I've used Paintshop for years. Started on version 2 I think and the latest I have is 7, but my wife has kept more up with it. She liked the older versions 7 and 8 I think it was, maybe upto 9, but she hasn't used the last one(s) much. I battled to get used to Photoshop, but I've got used to it by now and don't use PSP much, except version 7 beats anything I have for quick screenshots (including Snagit, which I use when I need a lot of screenshots for software docs, perhaps with some "special effects"). I have fond memories of PSP through the years, but I'm starting to build up fond memories of PS now:)

There are quite a few books on PSP. Try your local bookstore and amazon.com

Best regards,

I have 9.... a trial version of XI came with my wife's laptop and we ended up un-installing it and putting a (legit) version of 9 on it cause it was so awful.

Thanks for all the responses... I'm not sure why, but for some reason I just can't get the hang of it. I guess I need to break down and actually read some of the directions/tutorials.
