What is that? Never seen that before. How do I fix it? If you zoom in on her face on the right side, there are these little wavy lines. Definitely new to me.

Never saw anything like that either. There are at least 6 vertical bands of those lines. Some fainter than others. Strange!

I see them too. They repeat across the entire image. Did you shoot in raw? Are they on the raw image too?

If she did and they are there, they probably won't be there if she opens them in DPP first. I've seen "weirdness" in raw images opened with ACR that did not appear when opened in DPP.

DPP is Canon's raw editor. Digital Photo Professional. It comes with your camera. Most people, like me, throw the disk aside and use nothing but Photoshop. I started using DPP to do the initial image processing and conversion to TIF and then use CS3 to process the TIF further if necessary. I started doing that when an image I opened in ACR had some really bad anomolies in it and DPP didn't. Plus, DPP seems to be a better RAW converter.

I did at least install it. I'll give it a try and report back.

You might find out that you like it better than ACR. I actually process the RAW in DPP, save it as a TIF, open the TIFs in Bridge, then pick a keeper and open it in ACR, tweak it a tad, and then open in CS3. Not every image mind you. All are opened in DPP but obviously not every image is a keeper so I don't mess with the garbage.

That bites... One last ray of hope... make sure that you have the latest version of DPP. My disk was 2 versions old. Do a forum search for DPP or Digital Photo Professional... there's a link to the latest version out there...

Awe never mind... I found it for you..here is the link

Another question, have you looked in the same relative location on other images? Is it there or just on this one?

Yeah, I did look at other images in that area and there was one other image that had the bands. I updated the DPP software and processed it and they are still there.

For now, I ran Noiseware and that softened the lines a little and now I'm using the spot healing brush very painstakingly because I know the mother will like this image. She wouldn't smile in any of the pictures because she doesn't like her teeth until I told her "girl I can fix the teeth" and then she gave me this pretty smile.
