I need a head replaced. - 08-24-2007, 04:48 PM

I have formals where the bride has her eyes closed in one pic... but i have several similar pics with her eyes open.

what is the easiest way to replace the closed-eyes head with one of the open-eyes heads?

i am not familiar at all working with more than two images at a time in photoshop.

I'm sure someone here will help you, but if not Miller's does it for cheap and burns it on a CD for you.

i typically would crop down to the head in the open eyed picture.. copy and paste it on the closed eye image.
i would then move it to align it where the other head is, and rotate it to fit.
then, i would take a soft feathered eraser and erase around hairline leaving the original hair and basically do a face lift, rather than an entire headswap.
it looks more natural.
then, if your exposure was adjusted any, you need to make sure the color and skin tones match .
but, this will only work if they were taken consecutively, and at the same focal distance in the same pose.

open the first image

open the second image

go to the image with the open eyes

use polygonal lasso tool

select one eye

hold shift key and select the other eye

copy the selection

go the image with the closed eyes

paste the open eyes in a new layer

erase, trim, rotate, scale, skew and etc as necessary

WAY easier and faster than a headswap or faceplant, and much harder to detect

If the poses are similar the photomerge in PS works pretty well. It can take some time to do, but has great potential.
