CS3 Question - 08-28-2007, 06:20 PM

So I have been using Elements 3.0 and jsut downloaded PS CS3.

One thing I loved in Elements was how I could use the file browser to preview all the files. I would immediately delete the bad ones, then go through the good ones after deleting all the bad ones.

Is there a way to do that in CS3? I couldn't find a file browser (what it is called in elements.)

What am I missing?

It's a separate application, called Bridge. From within PS you can open Bridge by clicking the toolbar icon next to the "Workspace" dropdown.

Sweet. This is totally cool. Is Bridge new in CS3?

My last real Photoshop was 7.0. Gonna be nice to have the full program. I am really interested in Zoomify for all my panos. How have you liked that, Jeff?

Thomas,

I _think_ Bridge appeared in CS2. It was not part of the CS one that I had. I've tried Lightroom, but for some reason it was very slow on my computer. Bridge works fine and while it is no speed demon there are no issues with it:)

Best regards,

Bridge was new to CS2 I think (possibly its in CS). The functionality got a significant upgrade with CS3. Its now much better at things like filtering (sorting) and making ratings, etc...

Bridge was introduced with CS, but it was vastly improved in CS3. Zoomify looks pretty neat, but I haven't used it because that would require hosting my images on my own site (or at least, a site other than PBase).

I host on smugmug, so I have the same problem. However, I have considered putting up a real site again. In the meantime, I have a couple friends that have tons of space/bandwidth on their servers and would have no problem letting me use some.

Is there a way to delete files using bridge? I use it with CS2 but haven't found the ability to delete files, just view and edit. If I right-click a file in Bridge there is no option to "delete".

Whatever you’re looking for is looking for you, too. The catch, of course, is recognizing it when it pops up in front of you.

In CS3, pressing Ctrl+DEL will send files to the recycle bin. In CS2, it may just be DEL I can't remember.
