How is my post-processing? - 08-31-2007, 07:41 PM

Hey gang,

I'm out in search for some that have spent some time etc. on calibrating etc. for correct color/brightness.

Essentially, I have not used any sort of calibration. The below images were post-processed from Canon RAW (my 30D) with Bibble Pro to my liking on my CRT monitor. I've provided links to the original RAW images for comparison.

So, am I close? Way off? I just want to know if I'm too strong or too weak in certain areas.

Thanks,
Roy

Roy, both look fine on my monitor. The lily can vary a lot in color so it is more difficult, but the lantana and the black and white butterfly look very natural.

Thanks!

I'm mostly concerned with contrast and brightness.

Both look good. However, the second shot seems to have a bit of a "yellow" color cast to it. What do you think of this?

If you get your white balance correct either in-camera or using a white balance reference in post processing you won't have to "guess" how close the colors are. I usually use a WhiBal card when shooting and use that reference in my post processing. There are many other ways to get the proper white balance.
