Bridge crashing (Windows) - 09-03-2007, 10:27 AM

Does anyone else have an issue with Bridge 2.0.1 periodically crashing? Sometimes, a message will pop up saying that Bridge has encountered a problem and will now close. I'm on Window XP Pro SP2, 2GB RAM.

Well, I purged the Bridge cache to see if it will improve things. We'll see.

We've had problems with bridge crashing. *Mike* has been dealing with it. I just know we have had the same problem with Windows XP and Bridge.

If you would let me know what Mike finds, I'd really appreciate it.

I'm running Vista and had this problem. One of the issues seems to be all of the scripts that Bridge loads. Go under Edit/Preferences and look at which scripts load. There are a number of them that you won't need (i.e. Version Cue SDK, etc). This will help eliminate the crashing, along with making Bridge load faster.

There was a post on the Adobe forums that this was a known issue and Adobe was working on a patch to address it.

Thanks for the info, Charles. I have disabled most scripts as well. I hope the patch is released soon.

Me, too. I'm running Vista and CS3 and Bridge periodically crashes for no apparent reason. I'll try the scripts issue and see if that helps. Sure need a patch!

Since disabling most of the scripts as suggested, Bridge hasn't crashed. Looking good so far.
