Copyright Action - 09-03-2007, 01:15 PM

Is there an Photoshop action that can place predetermined text at a predetermined place on an image? I am looking for something to batch my copyright info on my photos. I know I can do this manually with the text tool, but I'm looking to apply it to 500+ images. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't have a copy of CS2 so can't tell you exactly, but one way I can think of is to create an image to use for a layer, then batch-apply that layer to your images. You could set it up with embossing, transparency, or whatever you need to make it look better when applied to the images.

If they're not all the same size, you could write the script so it resizes the copyright layer to match before applying, as well.

Can I batch apply that brush in a specific location to a group of images? I'm looking for something I can use with the batch command in PS. Thanks!

Here's a link to a video showing how to create a bordered frame with a centered logo at the bottom. I hope this helps:

If you want text that says "© <year> some text here", with <year> being the year taken out of the exif, let me know. If you look at any of my photos posted here, the copyright is done with a javascript that creates a new layer, reads the year out of the exif and creates the text. I'll be happy to send you the script if you want it.

I wouldn't mind having that one Bill... for posting here I usually just use a brush but it would be nice to batch sometime.

I can't remember the exact program i'm using, but once i size my images, i simply drop the file onto an apple script file i've created and it places the copyright image in the bottom right corner of all my images. I can drop all my images on it at the same time it and does everything. I think the program i use is a command line program so it doesn't even have to open the images to place the copyright.

I'll have to hunt around for all the parts to the process, but i'd be happy to share, providing you are using a mac and can run apple scripts, of course.

Try my watermark action. Just change the text and you're done :)

There is a video tutorial on Cut Frame TV that shows you how to make a watermark action. I made one and it looks great. This should work just fine as long as you change the opacity levels.

Hope this helps.
