JPG to Vector Graphic

Maybe a little off topic with regards to PP...but. Does anyone know how to create a Vector graphic from a JPG....hopefully in photoshop. Can it be done or do i need something like Illustrator?

PShop won't do vector graphics at all. You would need Illustrator. If I remember, Illustrator has a 30 day trial period, mostly full-function. I grabbed it just long enough to design some stuff for our wedding, so maybe that could work for you.

hmmm weird I just looked this up today. I followed this tutorial seemed to work well ......but it is alot of work

Or if you are trying to make a vector shape ...it can be done in photoshop... you have to trace the shape with the pen tool on path mode then save the completed path as a custom shape

Looks like there's quite a few free "draw from scratch" vector graphics programs (example - disclaimer: I know nothing about this program, just found it by googly), but I don't know about converting existing jpgs.
